Artist Statement:
Today, more than ever, it is important to create opportunities that bring human beings together and celebrate our common experiences. Through my work, I hope to leave viewers with common emotional impressions of the human experience–the commute to work, a conversation with a friend, getting lost in a maze of tiny streets in Spain, feeling like a pawn in the game of Life. This is what inspires my oil paintings and drawings. I want to draw the viewer into a visual story about life. The good the bad and the ugly–usually finding humor in the more poignant moments. My narrative pieces use gem-like colors, bold contour lines, and complex compositions to tell not only my story, but also the viewers’; creating a universal human experience that transcends time, language, and culture.
