BIO:

John Burgin is an illustrator/writer from Charlotte, NC.  He graduated from West Mecklenburg High School and completed his college education at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a BFA in painting and drawing. He is a father and grandfather, who enjoys being outside listening to birds and drinking coffee. He loves swimming and hanging out with friends having a beer or two.           

ARTISTS STATEMENT:

“Life is always in motion. I can be as still as possible, but everything around me keeps going.

I love to try to capture the motion of life in my work. It could be conveying the wind, blowing through flowers in a field, or the fluid gesture of a figure dancing or walking. I would like to believe that these drawings and paintings are alive themselves and I hope the viewer feels a bit more connected because of that.
