Artist BIO:

 Tina Ruark-Baker, affectionately known as “T,” is a self-taught abstract artist based in North Carolina.  Having recently relocated with her beloved husband from Long Island, NY, Tina has wholeheartedly embraced the vibrant artistic scene that Charlotte has to offer. Over the span of numerous years, Tina has dedicated herself to perfecting her craft in various forms of abstract expression, with a particular focus on utilizing acrylic and watercolor paints.  Tina’s passion for creativity shines through in her creative ability to incorporate new ideas, tools, and mediums into her ever-expanding artistic repertoire. 

Her artwork is a testament to her boundless creativity, showcasing a mesmerizing interplay of layers and the skillful integration of unique textures that imbue her paintings with a sense of depth and complexity. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Tina actively enjoys playing golf, participating in supporting local charities, and underscoring her unwavering dedication to community involvement while always prioritizing time for her cherished creative endeavors. Witnessing the evolution of a piece through the intricate interplay of creative textures, layers, and colors is a deeply captivating journey for me—it’s a dynamic and ever-changing process that never fails to inspire. In my artistic pursuits, I explore a diverse array of mediums, ranging from acrylics and watercolors to glazes, brushes, and silicone catalyst wedge tools. The inspiration behind my work is rooted in the dynamic interplay of light, transparency, and the nuanced depths achieved through meticulous layering techniques. As a naturally creative individual, I have always been drawn to the visual aspects of art, finding immense joy in the process of creation and the profound sense of fulfillment that comes from seeing the wonder reflected in someone’s eyes. 

For me, the essence of art lies in those transformative moments when a piece resonates with its audience, evoking a sense of awe and wonder.
