2026 – The Best Restaurants In Charlotte
Start with the bacon-wrapped dates that are served in a butcher paper-lined wooden pig bowl and stuffed with marcona almonds, goat cheese, and rosemary honey. Then, go ahead and ride that pork-and-rosemary train until the last stop: The Paratrooper cocktail has housemade fig-infused bourbon with rosemary syrup, along with a smoking sprig of rosemary peeking out of your rocks glass. While you sip, snack away at the sausage board, with three varieties of links, marinated artichokes, and a warm baguette.
2025 – Bartenders Share the Strangest Drink Requests of Their Careers
Christa Csoka, executive chef and owner of The Artisan’s Palate in Charlotte, North Carolina, once had a guest ask for “a drink that Cruella de Vil would drink.” With over 30 years in the industry, she didn’t hesitate — and served it with the appropriate attitude. The result: A smoky, moody mix of mezcal, Ancho Reyes, lime juice, activated charcoal, Demerara, saline, and mole bitters (which they aptly titled “The Dog Catcher.
2025 – Tale of the plate: Christa Csoka’s shrimp and grits
At the Artisan’s Palate, near the corner of 36th Street and The Plaza, there’s a gallery with a rotating display of local art, a wall featuring domestic and international wines, and a hallway connecting the restaurant to a secret garden. This menagerie of concepts is what owner and executive chef Christa Csoka always wanted: a space where art and community come together, where she can tell meaningful stories about her life and her family, through food and drink.
2025 – This Batch Cocktail Mistake Ruins Drinks Every Time — Here’s the Expert-Approved Fix
Christa Csoka, Chef and Owner of bar and restaurant Artisan’s Palate in Charlotte, North Carolina, takes a different approach, but agrees that ice is critical. “We definitely agree about the ice. You add ice to a pitcher or carafe, and it will dilute the cocktail; therefore, when I batch at home, we keep the ice separate,” she explains. She recommends setting up an interactive cocktail station “with the batched cocktail in a pitcher and the ice in an ice bucket for your guests to make the cocktail themselves.
2021 – The Artisan’s Palate Is an Art Gallery Restaurant with a Femme-
Forward Focus
Christa Csoka sits at the end of an industrial chic, community-style bar table at The Artisan’s Palate dressed in a Blondie t-shirt, sipping her iced coffee as customers, artists and staff repeatedly call for her attention, not unlike a matriarch of a large, blended family. Patiently, happily, she listens to each question, each life update, each rave about her new dishes as though the person speaking is the only one in the room.
2021 – Where Chefs Eat: The Artisan’s Palate’s Christa Csoka
Folks in the restaurant industry know good food, so we want to know where they eat when they’re not cooking. In this series, we ask a local chef, bartender, restaurateur, or waiter to share their favorite restaurants in town and what they order there. This week, we interview Christa Csoka, chef and owner of The Artisan’s Palate in NoDa. With years of culinary experience, Csoka can never turn down a classic wine and cheese combination.

It isn’t good to keep things bottled up. Luckily, the city has a range of wine bars and tasting rooms where you can fill your glass—or empty a few bottles. Discover rare labels, award-winning vintages, regional varietals, and wines on tap. Savor your sips beside a koi pond, on a rooftop, or in a garden, and share some tapas or a charcuterie board with friends. Remember to always drink responsibly, and for the love of grapes, don’t spill it.
Where to Eat in Noda

Today, the mill buildings have been renovated into apartments, and you’ll find an array of art galleries, murals, music venues, and some of the city’s best breweries. Dining options include Southern, Cajun, Mexican, and pub grub. Wear comfortable shoes, park where you can, and see where the day (or night) takes you.
50 Best Restaurants in Charlotte in 2023
Eating out isn’t a choice you make casually these days. More than ever, it’s a luxury you save for special occasions. Depending on where you plan to dine, you’re going to reserve a table, book a babysitter, schedule a ride-share, and get dressed to go out. The experience—food, service, atmosphere—had better be worth the price tag.
